News: Wiz Khalifa Gives You A Taste Of Life In Paris In New Tour Diary Video

A lot of rappers these days have taken to documenting their every moment in increasingly elaborate video diaries, but Wiz Khalifa might have the most professional looking set of videos. Where some vlogs feel like private confessionals, Wiz’s feel like episodes from a TV show. Yesterday, he released the newest episode of his DayTodayseries, giving you a sense of what living the wild life in Paris with a rap star might be like.
The episode kicks off in an airport, with Wiz catching some much needed shut-eye, and from there it’s off to Europe, where we find the Taylor Gang kingpin doing what’d youd expect to see him to in Paris: clowning around with fans, playing shows and smoking some of his favorite substance.
It’s not exactly the most plot heavy episode, but its got plenty of ambiance, laughs and music. Check it out above.

News: Diddy & Director Brian Grazer Teaming Up For Remake Of Classic Gangster Flick ‘King of New York’

Sean “Diddy” Combs has already played a part in the update of one urban cult classic tackling the role of a young Nicky Barnes in the film, Carlito’s Way:Rise To Power. Now, Puff is reportedly working with Oscar-winning producer/director Brain Grazer for a remake of the 1990 urban thriller King of New York, reports Page Six.
The original film, starring Christopher Walken, Laurence Fishburne and Wesley Snipes, tells the story of Frank White (sound familiar?) played by Walken who is a former drug deal who gets out of the pen and goes right back to work ruling with an iron fist while giving back to the community. According to Grazer, this is a project Combs has had his eye on for some time now, and the mogul plans on starring in the film as well. “Sean optioned the rights to remakeKing of New York for two years,” said Grazer. “The film is a cult classic, and it will be great to remake it. Our version won’t be exactly the same, but will have the same hard-core gangster feel. Sean wants to be in it, he was amazing inMonster’s Ball, and such strong characters sit perfectly with him.”
Production on the film could start as soon as next year.

NEWS: Mike Tyson Has Words Of Advice For Chris Brown

Mike Tyson is no stranger to many of the things facing Chris Brown right now: resentment, assault charges, and probation hanging over his head. So the former Heavyweight Champion of the World is in a privileged position to be able to speak to Brown on some of the dos and don’ts of his behavior of late.
“What he really needs to understand is that eventually, if you keep doing that stuff, people will turn on you,” Tyson told New York’s 95.5 radio station (via The Daily Mail), addressing Brown’s recent arrest for misdemeanor assault which could land him in jail for up to four years if an LA County judge deems that he violated his parole. ”I’m just worried about him because he’s really a sweet kid. He’s probably going through some overbearing pressures and if he keeps getting violent cases, he was arrested for this, assault here, assault there, they’re going to put him somewhere where that’s all they do is assault people. That’s what they do all day.”
Brown—still on probation from his 2009 arrest for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna—allegedly punched a man outside his Washington, D.C. hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning, and was arrested on an initial felony assault charge. The charge was later reduced to a misdemeanor, and yesterday a representative for Brown said that the singer has entered a rehab facility, presumably for anger management.
“I can’t even believe I’m saying this because I’m trying to work on getting it together,” Tyson continued. “This is what I know. Chris should know this. If you’re not humble in this world, this world will thrust humbleness upon you. That’s just what’s gonna happen.”

Hit-Boy Says Dr. Dre Co-Signed His Music

Hit-Boy says Kendrick Lamar deserves a Grammy win.
Roughly a week after rapper/producer Hit-Boy posted a picture of himself and Dr. Dre on Instagram along with the caption, “Look who stopped by House | Of | Hit today,” the beatsmith has shared the details of what led to the visit from his fellow musician.
Speaking with Hard Knock TV, Hit-Boy revealed that Dre’s visit was orchestrated by a friend of his who also happened to have ties with Dre. Hit-Boy offered a handful of details on the visit, which he says consisted mostly of kicking it, as he spoke on playing some of his music for the former N.W.A. member and also receiving an autograph from Dre for his The Chronic album.
“That was pretty amazing,” Hit-Boy said. “I can’t really go into—Matter of fact, yeah, I will just say a couple of things cause they didn’t want me to give out any information about it. But basically, Dre, my boy Fuzzy, I have a great relationship with him. He was the first person to book me for a show as an artist and stuff like that. We always had a great relationship. He just stopped by my crib one day and he was like ‘man.’ He felt the vibe. He wanted to just bring Dre through. So, he just brought him through and we just kicked it. You know, I played him a couple of things. I’m not saying that we are working together or anything…That was just an amazing thing to have somebody of that caliber, somebody who I genuinely really studied as a student of music, to be there cosigning some stuff I was doing.”
Prior to sharing the details of Dre’s visit, Hit-Boy shared one of his first Hip Hop memories, one that happened to involve the Aftermath Entertainment founder.
“My first Hip Hop memory? Man, maybe my uncles playing the N.W.A. album and just all the vulgar lyrics and stuff like that,” the producer said. "I was just always a fan of music so anything that just sonically sounded different than stuff I heard every day, I was super into."

Hit-Boy Says Kendrick Lamar Deserves A Grammy Win

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards are set to take place in Los Angeles on January 26, 2014, and Hit-Boy will likely see a number of artists he’s worked with with Grammy nods. And according to the West Coast beatsmith, Compton emcee Kendrick Lamar is the one rapper he’s worked with that he'd most like to see walk away with a Grammy in January.
“I’mma say Kendrick, man,” Hit-Boy said. “I felt like he had one of the most organic stories and organic movements of the last couple of years. So, and I seen it. I watched him go from not being able to sellout a show, you know early, to what he is now. On the Yeezus tour. It’s amazing, man. So, I appreciate his mind and where he’s trying to take his music and stuff like that.”
With his work on "Backseat Freestyle," Hit-Boy was one of a handful or producers to lend their production talents on Kendrick's good kid, m.A.A.d city album.

Hit-Boy Unsure Of When His Work With Drake Will Be Released

One artist Hit-Boy has worked with recently is Young Money singer-rapper, Drake. Although the producer does not have any contributions on the Canadian artist’s newly-released Nothing Was The Same album, he did confirm that he has worked with Drake and if any music from the pair is released, it’ll be released on behalf of Drizzy.
“Man, that’s 100 percent up to Drake,” Hit-Boy said. “But I just know the shit is awesome. So, you know, it’s all in what his vision is. So, whatever he wants to do with the song is like—he knows what his plans are and what he wants to do. I’m just here to help bring his vision musically.”
In September of this year, Hit-Boy confirmed with XXL magazine that he had in fact worked with Drake on a few song ideas.
“We worked on a bunch of ideas, none of the ideas are anything out right now. Just got some song ideas,” the 26-year-old producer said.
In the years since he began his music career, Hit-Boy has gone on to produce records for Jay Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky, and countless other artists.

Hip Hop Albums Sales 10/20/2013

Dom Kennedy breaks into the Top 30 with "Get Home Safely" while Drake and Pusha T stay in the Top 15 with "Nothing Was The Same" and "My Name Is My Name" respectively.
This week, no new Rap albums broke into the Top 20 on the Billboard Top 200 charts. Still, there were a few notable releases that cracked the Top 200.
This week saw an addition from Dom Kennedy's Get Home Safely in the Top 30, for instance. The project was the only new Rap album included in this week's Top 50. Young Dro also had a new addition to the charts withHigh Times. Dro's release entered at #57. The project sold more than 6,000 copies. Game came in at #88 with OKE's deluxe edition, which sold more than 4,000 copies its first week.
Other rappers held on to slots within the Top 20 this week. Drake remained in the Top 5 on the charts, selling more than 57,000 copies of Nothing Was The Same in its fourth week out. Pusha T held on to a Top 15 slot with My Name Is My Name, a project that sold close to 20,000 copies in its second week.

Drake's Nothing Was The Same Stays In The Top 5

Drake's Nothing Was The Same landed at #4 on the charts this week, selling more than 57,000 units. The project has been a consistent mainstay in the Top 5 on the charts since it was released on September 24. Drake's music gained additional fanfare last week due to a new interview featuring the Toronto rapper. During Drake's interview on Q with Jian Ghomeshi, the rapper spoke about why he feels his personality is sometimes misunderstood because of the content in his music. “I'm so sick of people saying that I'm lonely and emotional, and associating me with this longing for a woman," Drake said. "I hate that. It bothers me so much…'cause I do make music that makes you feel something, but I'm actually not that guy in real life. I'm a happy person." Drake is currently on his "Would You Like a Tour?" tour with Future and Miguel.

Pusha T's My Name Is My Name Remains In Top 15

Pusha T's My Name Is My Name debuted in last week's charts at #4, selling more than 75,000 copies in its first week. This week, Pusha T sold approximately 19,000 units, landing him at #14. Pusha T's release has allowed many fans to wonder about a potential Clipse album being released. According to Pusha T, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams have also expressed interest in a new album from the Virginia-based duo that also includes No Malice. “[Kanye West and Pharrell] both are like, ‘Yo, we just need to do the whole Clipse album. Both of us. And that’s it.’” Pusha T recently said in an interview with Juan Epstein. For now, Pusha remains in the Top 14 as a solo artist continuing to establish hisName on the charts.

Dom Kennedy's Get Home Safely Arrives In Top 30

Dom Kennedy's Get Home Safely debuted this week at #29, selling more than 10,000 units. Kennedy'sGet Home Safely features Krondon and Skeme, but otherwise, Kennedy mans the album on his own. During a September interview with HipHopDX, Kennedy spoke about how proud he is of the album he's delivered. "They can expect the highest quality music they’ve definitely heard from me, and they’ve probably heard from a lot of genres, not just Hip Hop. I’m introducing the album to encourage and reach a lot of people that probably never knew who Dom Kennedy was. But it’s in a great way. Without changing what I do or without compromising the integrity of Rap music or anything, I feel like people will be proud to say that this is their favorite Rap album of the moment. I feel like it’s been few and far between that people are able to say that in our generation. For people interested in Hip Hop and Rap music, I feel like they’ll be proud to say that."

Album Review: Pusha T "My Name Is My Name"

This is the moment that Clipse fans have been waiting for since the 2011 release of "Fear of God". When i first heard that Push went solo and signed to Kanye's Good Music imprint i was skeptical to say the least. After a few delays King Push's debut "My Name is My Name" has arrived. It was reported that Pusha Said that "MNIMN" would be the album of the year.

Back by production from Kanye, Pharrell, 88 Keys, and The Dream Push has a crazy sound scape to play on. Listening to the album its almost reminiscent of the Clipse days with all the coke talk and high fashion bravado. Push weaves his way threw every beat with ease. He brings along an all star cast of co-stars including Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Pharell, The dream, 2 chainz, big Sean, Kelly Rowland and Kanye West

The album starts off on a high with the opener "King Push". Push Fires off "This My time, This Is My Hour, This Is My Pain, This Is My name, Its My Power". Immediately letting listeners know he's not playing. But it's lines like "Vultures to my culture, exploit the struggle insult ya, they name dropping bout game copping, But aint never been the foot solider" that give the song that extra sting. He even takes shots at drake with  "I rap nigga, Bout trap niggas, I don't sing hooks"

The way Push flows through out the project its like he's disgusted with how sick his bars are. Another album stand out comes on "40 acres" with an assist from The Dream. Push ryhmes "This cocaine cowboy pushed it to the limit, You thought tony in that cell would have maid us timid" "We found his Old cell bitch we searching threw the digits, Anything Spanish got me speaking Spanglish"

One of the most entertaining record has to be the Kelly Rowland featured "Let me Love You". Push flawlessly channeled the Harlem great Ma$e throughout the record. Built over big production "MNIMN" lives up to standards of classic Clipse albums" Push shows even at 36 he can Hold his own with the young cats( ie "Nosetalgia" ft Kendrick Lamar).

Pusha T strives for greatness with every verse on "MNIMN" but falls short due to some production. The missteps on the album are made up for by all the great moments within the album. All in all its the best Rap album I've heard or reviewed in 2013. Sorry Ye, Jay, Cole, Wale, Drake Buts its King Push time to shine.
